Minnesota House bill would classify candidate street addresses as private, restrict campaign finance postings

Scope: State (Minnesota)

Branch: Legislative

Severity: Amber

Date occurred: April 13, 2026

HF 3363 would classify street addresses in campaign finance filings as private data, bar the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board from posting such data online, and require the Board, local governments, and school districts to remove, modify, and repost affected reports and statements. The bill also allows noncampaign disbursements for security-related expenses. It was re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration under joint rule 2.03 deadlines.

Constitutional basis: Bill narrowing public disclosure under Minnesota's campaign finance regime remains in committee, unenacted, with no legislative outcome yet.
